Pet Insurance Recommendations
I HIGHLY recommend considering an insurance plan for your pet. These come in handy when there is an emergency or the need to see a specialist. Most chronic diseases in animals require lifelong medications and regular checkups. It is comforting to know that the costs will be covered so that you can do what is best to keep your pet healthy and comfortable. I have NEVER had a client regret getting pet insurance, but I have had many regret NOT getting it.
With many pet insurance providers, it can seem like a daunting task to begin researching the best pet insurance providers with the right plan for your furry friend. Compare pet insurance providers and plans; keeping breed, age, and any preexisting conditions in mind. With the proper plan, your pets can be insured for a lifetime and you can protect and keep them safe. Here are a few to get you started.

My wife and I are cat people and over the years have had some very independent and special personality cats. After searching for a veterinarian we discovered The Montrose Clinic. It was there we met Dr. Powell. This was over 10 years ago and she became the mainstay for treatment from anything our ‘children’ developed, whether it was an ingrown claw to upper respiratory infection.
What kept us coming to her was the kindness and true affection she had for the animals. Even the most difficult child we had, Sam Houston a 22 pound Maine Coon want-to-be who had been known to back vets into a corner from fear, was handled so well he barely objected. In addition, she always made enough time to answer our questions and concerns. Her follow-up after we had left the clinic was excellent and she was always available to answer our questions.
When we had to let Houston go, her compassion and empathy made the task easier. Since she left Montrose, my wife and I have struggled to find someone to fill her shoes to treat our three feline family members with the same gentleness. No one has been able to measure up to her skills. We are so looking forward to her returning to practice.
Nobody better in Houston!

I have known Catherine Powell for many years & respected her as a competent veterinary & for how much she loves her “patients”. Needless to say, I was thrilled when she opened her Home Care Vet practice. Having her come to my house has made my life so much easier (especially when it comes to rounding up cats to take to a vet’s office!). My animals love her & her assistant, Janine. We are so happy to have Home Care Vet!

Our ailing, elderly, shy and skittish kitty, Zorra, required one to two weekly visits to the clinic for treatment of multiple ailments. The people at her clinic were very kind and professional, but regular travel back and forth along with dealing with a different environment clearly took its toll on Zorra. Initially we opted for Home Care Vet visits with Dr. Powell to help reduce Zorra’s anxiety and facilitate her treatment, which it did. When it became clear that Zorra was in the final stages of her life, Dr. Powell provided sympathetic support and insight as we worked through the options and decisions we had to make regarding Zorra’s care. Having a professional available who could treat Zorra in her own environment made her last few weeks easier on her and us. An additional benefit was our other two cats saw Dr. Powell in their home environment which we believe will make them more comfortable with examinations and treatments in the future. Home Care Vet visits are a wonderful and affordable examination or treatment option for pets (whether they have issues or not) and we strongly recommend Dr. Powell and Home Care Vet.

I’ve had the privilege to enlist Dr. Catherine Powell’s expertise with my most precious family members’ care for the past fifteen years. My dogs are like children to me so the fact that she has been our veterinarian for over a decade speaks volumes. Her skill set and knowledge in the field of veterinary medicine has proven invaluable to me and most importantly to my sweet dogs. From routine visits to a cancer diagnosis she has guided me every step along the way. If something is out of her scope of practice she will always make sure to put you in the right hands. She had made some very ominous times a bit brighter for me either by educating me on a particular condition or simply being there to provide comfort when I needed it most. Her bedside manners are impeccable!
I can’t imagine having another doctor by my side. You not only have to treat the patient but often times you have to treat the pet parent. She has always proven respectful and supportive in this aspect and that means the world to me. I would be remiss to not mention her undeniable love for animals. She will treat your pet just as she would her own…

This was the best veterinary experience my dog Wally has ever had. Having Catherine come to the house where Wally was comfortable was perfect as he is so nervous at the vets office. He was able to get his checkup and the shots he needed right there. It really was a great experience!
